About the programme

PRODEF is the Czech national programme for applied defence research and innovation, run by the Technology Agency (TA CR) in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence. Its second public competition (subprogramme 2, announced 3 June 2026) targeted modern, emerging and breakthrough technologies usable by the Czech Armed Forces, with a CZK 900 million allocation, support of up to CZK 50 million per project and aid intensity up to 70%.

Why it matters

Currently the largest company-facing national defence R&D grant line in Czechia, open to firms of all sizes with high aid intensity and a direct MoD guarantor relationship.
