up to £330 million for FY2026-27 to 2029-30

About the programme

NSSIF, established in 2018, is the UK Government's corporate venture arm for dual-use deep tech, run as a partnership between the national security and defence community and the British Business Bank. It invests through British Patient Capital and the Enterprise Capital Funds programme, and directly via British Technology Investments Ltd. Priority themes are AI and data, quantum, semiconductors and advanced compute, space and communications, and emerging technologies. Under the 2025 industrial strategy it was awarded up to £330 million to invest across FY2026-27 to 2029-30.

Why it matters

It is patient government-linked equity that also opens doors into the UK national security customer base, without a grant competition cycle. Relevant for dual-use deep-tech companies raising Seed to Series B alongside commercial VCs.
