The Latvian MoD co-finances the national share of Latvian companies' participation in European Defence Fund development projects and separately supports the cost of preparing EDF proposals with up to EUR 50,000. For the EDF 2026 call (Commission deadline 29 September 2026), participation applications are due to the ministry by 31 August 2026 and preparation-support applications by 29 October 2026. Applications go to edf@mod.gov.lv.
EDF development actions require member-state co-financing, so this instrument is the gatekeeper for any Latvian company joining an EDF consortium. The EUR 50,000 proposal-preparation grant materially de-risks the bid-writing cost.
