An annual research funding call run by the Finnish MoD's Scientific Advisory Board for Defence. The 2027 round finances 10-20 one-to-two-year projects worth up to EUR 1.85 million in total, targeting new scientific openings and innovations for military national defence, with disruptive technologies such as AI, machine autonomy, 6G, space, quantum and cell biotechnology named as example areas. The Ministry of Defence makes funding decisions on MATINE's proposal.
It is Finland's lowest-threshold entry point into MoD-funded research: small feasibility grants that put your team on the defence administration's radar and build a track record for larger PVTO or EDF work.

The single largest pot of near-term Danish defence procurement money, with an explicit invitation for industry to propose what to buy. Speed to fielding is the main selection criterion.
