About the programme

In 2026 Innosuisse and armasuisse launched a joint CHF 20 million Flagship call for dual-use technologies, the first Swiss federal instrument explicitly funding defence-relevant innovation with industry. The call covers three focus areas: resilient positioning, navigation and timing; photonics for secure communication and sensing; and counter-drone technologies. Projects are carried out by consortia of research institutions and implementation-partner companies, and proposals are due by 27 October 2026.

Why it matters

The first real opening of Swiss federal innovation funding to defence-relevant work; companies partnering with Swiss research institutions get subsidised development in three procurement-relevant technology areas.
