About the programme
The JFTC Purchasing & Contracting portal publishes open solicitations through which commercial suppliers and contractors can bid for goods and services needed by the NATO Joint Force Training Centre in Bydgoszcz, Poland. Solicitations range from simplified acquisitions (EUR 80k–800k) to full Invitations for International Bidding (IFIBs) for multi-year service contracts. Eligible bidders must be entities chartered within a NATO member nation; contractor personnel must hold citizenship of a NATO nation and, where required, an appropriate security clearance. NATO does not pay taxes or duties on procured goods and services under applicable international agreements.
Why it matters
The JFTC contracting pipeline is one of the more accessible NATO procurement entry points for SMEs, with a dedicated simplified-acquisition tier covering contracts up to EUR 800k that does not require the full IFIB process. Companies offering training support, simulation, logistics, IT, or professional services to the defence sector can register as suppliers and receive direct notification of new solicitations. Winning a JFTC contract establishes a verifiable NATO supply-chain reference, which is valuable for bidding on larger NATO and national defence contracts.
